Texas Author Series Happy Hour and Interview with Prof. Peniel E. Joseph
Join us at Chez Zee for an evening with Peniel E. Joseph, author of “Freedom Season: How 1963 Transformed America’s Civil Rights Revolution”.
During Happy Hour, co-host Cari Clark will lead a live interview exploring Joseph’s powerful narrative of 1963 as the defining year of the Black freedom struggle — a year marked by political upheaval, courage, tragedy, and transformation. Drawing on the lives of figures such as Martin Luther King Jr., James Baldwin, Lorraine Hansberry, and Gloria Richardson, Joseph examines how one tumultuous year reshaped America’s moral and legislative landscape.
Following the conversation, guests will have the opportunity to meet the author and have books signed. Admission is complimentary with a dinner reservation at Chez Zee following the program.
